Isiah Pacheco injury update for Chiefs on Sunday

The Kansas City Chiefs have been on a tear lately. After an 0-2 start to the season, the reigning AFC champions have won 5 of their last six games. But regular-season matchups against the rival Buffalo Bills, given the comparisons between MVP-caliber quarterbacks Patrick Mahomes and Josh Allen, always carry a little extra weight. For these two heavyweights, they usually mean something for the playoffs.

Unfortunately for the Chiefs, they’re going to be without one of their most important offensive players for the big Week 9 game.

According to Kansas City’s final injury report, starting running back Isiah Pacheco has been ruled out of the matchup in Buffalo with a knee injury. After Pacheco had started building momentum recently, the Chiefs will have to turn elsewhere in their backfield to win in Western New York. If there’s any consolation, CBS’s Tracy Wolfson reports that Pacheco’s injury isn’t considered something serious or long-term:

Patrick Mahomes has been playing like an MVP again this season. If there’s anyone who can withstand the absence of their starting running back, it’s Mahomes.

Who is Isiah Pacheco’s backup on the Chiefs?

Veteran tailback Kareem Hunt is listed as the No. 2 running back on the Kansas City depth chart.
