Chef Dan Cox broke the news to fans of the eatery in an email to subscribers announcing he was turning his attention to other projects.
Cox, who won the prestigious Roux Scholarship in 2008 at the age of 26, took over Crocadon Farm in 2007 after a stint as executive chef at Simon Rogan’s Fera at Claridge’s.
Six years later he launched the restaurant which became one of the most sustainable restaurants in the UK.
It won a green sustainability star in the Michelin Guide 2023 and a Michelin Star the following year.

The restaurant served organic ingredients grown or reared on-site or within a 30 mile radius.
The restaurant has an excellent five-star rating and one recent visitor praised it as: “One of the best tasting menus I have eaten. Food is clearly fresh, locally grown and sourced.”
“The chef said: “Over the last eight years we’ve worked hard to build something that benefits the land, our team and the people who dine here.”
He continued: “I’m especially grateful to the team, whose commitment, passion and creativity made Crocadon what it was.”
“As one season ends, another begins – and while it’s bittersweet to close Crocadon, I’m excited for what comes next: new ideas, collaborations and the chance to share everything we’ve learned.”
The 120 acre farm will continue on after despite the closure of the attached restaurant.
Cox said: “Crocadon Farm had always been about learning through doing,” said Cox.
“We’ve made mistakes, we’ve learned and we’ve grown. The restaurant was one part of a bigger story – about what food can be when you care for the soil, the animals and the people equally.”
Cox found inspiration whilst working at three-Michelin-starred Can Fabes near Barcelona where he experienced their garden-to-plate ethos.
He then spent seven years working under Simon Rogan, establishing the Aulis restaurant and Our Farm at L’Enclume in Cumbria before joining the Michelin starred Fera.
Crocadon described itself as a “soil-centric farm with a restaurant at its heart.
“A collaborative approach to food and farming, working together to explore and celebrate a brighter vision for food and agriculture.”
