The Fortnite Simpsons update v38.00 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox has gone live. If you have a slow internet connection and want to stay ahead, this is your chance to do so. The estimated size is between 30 to 40 GB, depending on your console. Keep in mind that while you can pre-download, the new content cannot be accessed till after the downtime ends, following the “Welcome, Our Alien Overlords” Live Event.

If you’re PlayStation 5 and/or Xbox is on, the Fortnite Simpsons update should automatically begin. Keep in mind that size will vary based on which console you’re using, but 40 GB seems to be the upper limit. That said, if your download doesn’t start on its own, you may need to manually do it.
Once completed, you can head back into the game and go about your session as usual until 11:30 AM ET on November 1, 2025; that’s when downtime begins, and matchmaking will be disabled. Once servers are brought online, you will be able to directly jump into the game and not wait for the update.
Will the Fortnite Simpsons update v38.00 pre-download be available on PC?
While the Fortnite Simpsons update v38.00 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox has gone live, do not expect it to go live on PC until the live event concludes. This is because the files on the PC can be accessed and looked into before the intended time.
To avoid leaks, things will be limited to the console for the time being. Further, since Epic Games has already showcased some of the expected content, leaks will likely be kept to a minimum to avoid spoilers.
That said, we will still get leaks when downtime begins, but until then, whatever was showcased in official capacity will have to suffice. Remember to attend the live event to follow the storyline transition from this phase to the next.
