Fortnite Augury skin goes missing, but is Epic Games bringing it back?

Out of all the deals you can get in gaming, I reckon the Fortnite Crew subscription is pretty decent. Not only do you get access to every Battle Pass in the game, including all those The Simpsons cosmetics, but you can get exclusive rewards like the Augury Fortnite skin. It’s nice to get an extra 1000 V-Bucks every month, too. However, if you’re expecting to take the Fortnite Augury skin into Zero Build or the Jam Stage, there’s bad news for you right now.
Cosmetics and Fortnite skins don’t disappear from Epic Games’ hit battle royale game often. Recent examples include the Peacemaker emote, but even that didn’t stay out of the limelight for too long. However, it stings the most when items or characters are removed from your locker or the Item Shop without any warning. That’s the case for Augury, a skin exclusive to September’s edition of your Fortnite Crew subscription.
You probably don’t realize it’s missing, either. I’ll be honest, it isn’t the kind of skin I’d take into battle – I’m more of a John Wick or Alan Wake enjoyer. Maybe I’ll hit the griddy as Billie Eilish from time to time. If you’re wondering where it is, Epic Games is offering the following explanation in a recent social media post: “We’re aware that some players are no longer seeing the Augury outfit in their lockers, and we will let you know once we have more information on a fix.”
In the ten hours since the developer made players aware of the issue, hundreds of reports from disgruntled users continue to flood social media, with no end in sight. Most players are blindsided by the Augury skin’s absence because it’s a Fortnite Crew exclusive skin, meaning it’s even harder to come by. Typically, you can expect most cosmetic bundles to return to the Item Shop, but even then, some skins can take years to come back, depending on their rarity. You can look at Billy the Puppet or Ash Williams for evidence of that.
Augury will likely be reinstated shortly, and it’s probably an issue as a result of the recent seasonal update. Chapter 6 Season 5 ushers in The Simpsons Fortnite map to the game, featuring a full-on recreation of Springfield in cel-shaded glory. Alongside it, you can get started with Fortnite Sidekicks, a new feature that lets you roam around with your own pet companion.
Whether you’re getting some Fortnite Steam Deck action or downloading the free Switch game to nab that Bart Simpson skin, don’t forget to get some Fortnite codes while you’re at it.
