US lawmakers are renewing their calls for Andrew to answer questions and testify about his links to paedophile Jeffrey Epstein.
Buckingham Palace announced on Thursday the former prince would be stripped of his titles and move out of his 30-room Windsor home.
Democratic congressman Suhas Subramanyam is urging the former prince to testify before the US House of Representatives committee, which is conducting an inquiry into the government’s handling of the Jeffrey Epstein case.
He told ITV News: “I’m going to continue to ask Andrew, and anyone else however powerful and rich they are, to come forward and come to our committee and testify about what happened with Jeffrey Epstein and how deep it went.”
Meanwhile, the Metropolitan Police has reiterated it is considering whether to investigate claims that Andrew tried to get his protection officers to “dig up dirt” on Virginia Giuffre, who claims she was forced to have sex with him.
The King stripped his younger brother of his Prince and Duke of York titles and required him to leave his Windsor mansion.
It was after mounting calls for Andrew to give up Royal Lodge after it emerged he had been paying a “peppercorn” rent.
He came under renewed pressure on October 21 following the release of Virginia Giuffre’s posthumous memoir.
There has also been a series of damaging newspaper allegations, including that Andrew tried to get the Metropolitan Police to get information for a smear campaign against Ms Giuffre.
Andrew has strenuously denied all allegations.
Andrew will move from his Windsor home to Sandringham after Christmas, as the process of giving up the property will take time. It is understood the King will make private financial provisions for his brother.
It is also understood that Andrew’s ex-wife Sarah Ferguson will not be moving to Sandringham with him.
The family of Ms Giuffre, who took her own life in April this year, said they felt vindicated after Andrew was stripped of his title.
In a statement on Thursday, Ms Giuffre’s family said it was the “truth and extraordinary courage” of an “ordinary American girl” which “brought down a British prince”.
Andrew has tainted the reputation of the royal family with his association with Epstein and, for many years, was dogged by allegations he sexually abused Ms Giuffre after she was trafficked by the financier.
He remains eighth in line to the throne, though any realistic prospect of him becoming monarch is considered virtually impossible, with public and political pressure almost certain to intervene.
