Jaire Alexander Traded to Eagles from Ravens Ahead of 2025 NFL Deadline

The Philadelphia Eagles acquired cornerback Jaire Alexander and a 2027 seventh-round draft pick from the Baltimore Ravens in exchange for a 2026 sixth-round pick, the team announced Saturday.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter first reported the news.
Alexander didn’t make much of an impact in his first year with the Ravens, as he was a healthy scratch for five games this season. That included Baltimore’s 28-6 win over the Miami Dolphins on Thursday.
The Eagles view the trade as “adding competition and depth” to their defensive backs room, according to ESPN’s Tim McManus.
Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic reported Baltimore has “raved about how well” Alexander handled his limited playing time, but he “obviously wants to play” moving forward.
The two-time Pro Bowler signed a one-year deal worth up to $6 million with the Ravens in June after he was released by the Green Bay Packers, the team that he spent the first seven years of his career with.
Alexander blossomed into one of the NFL’s top cornerbacks in Green Bay, amassing 10 interceptions and 58 passes defended from 2018-22.
Injuries slowed him down near the end of his Packers tenure. He appeared in just 14 of a possible 34 regular-season games over his final two years with the team due to shoulder and knee issues.
Alexander struggled in his two appearances as a Raven, recording five tackles. He also allowed a 118.8 passer rating and 23.2 yards per reception when targeted, according to Pro Football Focus.
Now, Alexander will look to provide a boost to an Eagles squad that has dropped from the NFL’s No. 1 pass defense in 2024 to the league’s No. 18 pass defense in 2025.
Philadelphia has focused on adding to its secondary as of late, acquiring cornerback Michael Carter II in a trade with the New York Jets on Wednesday.
Alexander could face a familiar opponent if he’s active in his first game with the Eagles, as they’re scheduled to face the Packers on Nov. 10 following their Week 9 bye.
