Blue Jays’ Game 7 probable starter Max Scherzer has a good Nationals omen on his side

Max Scherzer is one of the greatest pitchers of his generation.

If he is indeed the Game 7 starting pitcher for the Toronto Blue Jays in the final game of the World Series, that’ll be special no matter what.

He’s also got a great omen on his side.

The last World Series Game 7 came in 2019, when the Washington Nationals took on the Houston Astros.

That day, Scherzer started for the Nats. And at the end of the night, the Nationals were partying as 6-2 victors.

Why not do it all over again?

Scherzer is far from the pitcher he was back then. He had an ERA over 5.00 in the regular season.

But he doesn’t need to be his former self for a whole season. He needs to be Mad Max for just a handful of innings at most.

The Blue Jays will have all pitching hands on deck, and so at the first sign of trouble, Scherzer will likely come out.

It’s up to him to keep that first sign of trouble out of the way for a while.

He knows how to do this Game 7 thing. It’s up to him to come out and be dialed in. Frankly, there’s no doubt that he will be.
