Blue Jays face Dodgers in Toronto for winner-take-all World Series Game 7

Ohtani vs. Scherzer: What say the fans

At Rogers Centre, Jays fans weighed in on tonight’s starting pitching matchup: Jays veteran Max Scherzer versus two-way Dodgers star Shohei Ohtani.

“I’m not scared of Ohtani,” said Andrae Anglin. “Max at this stage [you] don’t know if he’ll be on or off. He knows how big this game is. I think he’s going to give it all that he has.”

Rob Convery said he thinks Scherzer has the advantage because he’s pitched in this kind of situation before (Scherzer started Game 7 of the 2019 World Series).

As for Ohtani, Convery thinks George Springer “is going to light up Ohtani on his first pitch.”

J.J Anderson said he believes the Jays hitters will be able to get to Ohtani, although he does have some concerns about Scherzer because of where he is in his career.

“But if he’s like he’s been for most of the playoffs, I’m pretty sure it will be a fun matchup.”

As for fan Matt Black, he summed up the matchup succinctly: “I love Scherzer. Mad Max!”
