Ahead of ‘NOLA King,’ Samuel L. Jackson’s Memeable Masterpiece Is Slithering to 4K Blu-ray

Tired of these monkey-fighting snakes on this Monday-to-Friday plane? Well, too bad, because Samuel L. Jackson‘s herpetological horror cult fave, Snakes on a Plane, is slithering on to 4K Blu-ray this spring, courtesy of Arrow Video. Snakes on a Plane‘s estimated time of arrival is January 20, 2026.

The set will feature an all-new 4K restoration of the film, which will be packaged in a reversible sleeve with two all-new artwork options; it will also feature a safety information card from fictional carrier South Pacific Airlines, and a booklet with writing by film historians Daniel Burnett and Charlie Brigden. The set will also feature an all-new audio commentary from critics Max Evry and Bryan Reesman, as well as an archival commentary featuring Jackson, director David R. Ellis, producer Craig Berenson, associate producer Tawny Ellis, VFX supervisor Eric Henry, and second unit director Freddie Hice. It will also include a number of featurettes on the making of the film, its special effects, its on-set snake handler, its novelization, and the online hype that surrounded the film’s release. Other special features include Cobra Starship‘s music video for the movie’s theme song, a making-of featurette, a gag reel, trailers and TV spots, and a gallery of Easter eggs. The set will retail for $35 USD, and can be pre-ordered now on ArrowVideo.com.

What Is ‘Snakes on a Plane’ About?

Sean Jones (Nathan Phillips) is a surfer dude who witnesses crimelord Eddie Kim (Byron Lawson) killing a prosecutor. FBI Agent Neville Flynn (Jackson) is tasked with getting Sean from Hawaii to Los Angeles so he can testify. Flynn is prepared for any eventuality…except for snakes on a plane. Kim has a crate of deadly snakes smuggled onto Jones and Flynn’s flight; once the plane is in the air, the box unlocks, and venomous villainy is loosed upon the passengers and crew. It’s up to Flynn to keep his witness safe and the rest of the plane’s inhabitants un-bitten. Notable passengers, crew members, and snake food include Julianna Margulies, Kenan Thompson, Lin Shaye, Elsa Pataky, David Koechner, and Taylor Kitsch.

Snakes on a Plane was originally the film’s working title, but became its permanent title when its outlandish premise attracted an online following. The film’s marketing rode the online hype, and it ultimately doubled its budget, grossing $62 million on a $33 million budget, but it was considered a disappointment when it didn’t become a runaway hit.

Arrow Video’s Snakes on a Plane 4K Blu-ray set will be released on January 20, 2026, and can be pre-ordered now. Stay tuned to Collider for future updates.
