AL put up a good fight against T1, but the reigning World champions ultimately won and proceeded to the semifinals. By contrast, TES saw a fairly smooth win over G2 Esports, though the team’s next match won’t be as easy.

T1 vs TES match analysis

T1 and TES both struggled in the Swiss Stage, but the level of opposition was like night and day. While T1 lost to the likes of CFO and Gen.G, TES lost best-of-three matches against KT and Gen.G without winning a single game.

Being a former Worlds winner, JackeyLove brings a wealth of knowledge and high carry potential to TES as its ADC, and is a solid match for T1’s bottom lane. T1’s Faker is a much more reliable mid-laner than Creme and will likely get an early advantage mid thanks to his synergy with his jungler.

The biggest question here may be which team’s top laner shows up in the match. 369 has led his team to victory before, but he tends to fold under pressure. By contrast, Doran sometimes makes questionable for T1 decisions but otherwise has excellent synergy with his teammates, which helps them to better secure objectives. With T1’s more objective-oriented playing style, it may be a good idea to side with T1 getting the first dragon, Atakhan, and Baron.

TES has been initially more aggressive than T1 in its recent matches, increasing its chances of getting first blood. But T1’s initially slow and steady strategy usually ensures it’s ahead in time to secure the first turret.

TES hasn’t really shown up much this year relative to this level of competition. The team only qualified for one international tournament at First Stand, and failed to crack the top three while there. Its performance against KT and Gen.G in the Swiss Stage suggests TES isn’t prepared to face a high-level LCK team, and with T1’s form steadily getting better, there’s a good chance that it may defeat TES without the LPL side winning a single game. Taking the under on 3.5 games has a potentially good return and may be a good idea for this match.

T1 vs TES betting picks & predictions

TES and T1 were both far from being the first or even second seeds of their respective regions, but their performance in the knockout stage has been solid. T1’s form against underdog betting favorite
Anyone’s Legend was more impressive than anything TES has delivered thus far, and while TES has an extremely reliable ADC, its middle lane and support players may hold the team back from winning any games in this best-of-five match.

Best picks

  • Total maps to be under 3.5 @ 2.70: TES was unable to win a single game in the Swiss Stage against Gen.G or KT, and the same may happen here against T1.
  • TES to get first blood @ 1.95: TES will likely go into the first game with guns blazing, potentially securing first blood.
  • T1 to get first baron @ 1.52: T1’s Oner is a more objective-focused jungler than Kanavi, increasing his team’s chances of getting most jungle objectives.
