Who’s out and who’s a doubt: Mat Sadler provides Harrison Burke update amid late calls ahead of FA Cup tie

The Saddlers head to non-league Eastleigh on Sunday – and in his pre-match press conference Sadler provided an update the fitness of his squad.

Heading into the game, there are only doubts around two players, one of them being Burke, with the Walsall boss explaining they are set to make a late call on whether he will make a return.

Elsewhere, Lewis Warrington came off after 30 minutes in the recent defeat to Cheltenham Town – and he is facing a race to be fit for the clash with Eastleigh.

Sadler explained: “He’s pushing. He’s pushing very hard. He’s training today. He’s stepped up his recovery really well this week. We’ll probably make a late call on him.

“Lewis Warrington, who came off in the last game, we were a bit worried actually because he really blew up his full-time cup area.

“It didn’t look very nice but luckily there was no break when we X-rayed it so he’s been able to be out there.

“He’s racing to get fighting fit as well so they’re the only two that we were overly concerned of in the last game barring Tuesday.

“Apart from those two, it’s the status quo.”
