Make sure to check your smoke detectors along with your clocks this weekend.
As people take time to change the time on their clocks today the St. John’s Regional Fire Department is also urging them to check their smoke detectors.
The department says when clocks fall back or spring ahead, it is a good time to change the batteries in any smoke or carbon monoxide detectors.
Smoke detectors should be installed on each level of a home and inside all areas where people sleep. Any smoke alarm that is more than 10 years old should be replaced outright.
