Strictly’s Fleur East says ‘that’s so special’ over Ellie Goldstein and Vito Coppola’s Halloween tribute

The It Takes Two presenter was left stunned by Ellie and Vito’s plans for this weekend’s edition of the BBC series

Strictly Come Dancing star Fleur East said ‘that’s so special’ after Ellie Goldstein and Vito Coppola revealed their Halloween tribute.

Actress and model Ellie, who is the first person to compete on the series with Down Syndrome, and professional dancer Vito are going by the name ‘Team Cheaky’ on the BBC series.

Quickly becoming fan favourites on the series, Saturday night’s (October 25) episode of the series saw Ellie and Vito taking part in icons week.

Ellie channelled her inner Spice Girl as she and Vito took on the Salsa to a melody of the Spice Girls’ biggest hits, including Spice Up Your Life and Who Do You Think You Are?

With the judges giving the pair a combined score of 28 out of 40 points, Ellie and Vito made it through to this weekend’s Halloween special.

As all of the remaining stars prepare to play dress-up for the night, Ellie and Vito will be taking on the Tango to Lady Gaga’s hit song Abracadabra.

Appearing on Strictly spin-off It Takes Two on Tuesday night (October 28), Ellie said she is looking forward to the ‘make up and costume’.

Vito went on to reveal that he and Ellie are taking inspiration from a Salsa singer Fleur did with him when they competed on Strictly together in 2022.

He explained: “Basically, I am going to be a bunny. Ellie is going to be a magician, at the same time there’s lots of interaction. We are going to do tricks.

“We got inspired by the end of your salsa because you were kind of like ‘boom’ with the magic. Ellie wants to do exactly the same step and we did. We’re going to channel our inner Fleur for the end.”

Appearing visibly emotional by the reveal, Fleur replied: “Awww, that’s really special. I love that. Thank you so much for sharing that.”

Meanwhile, icons week also saw Ellie receiving a special message from Baby Spice Emma Bunton, who sent in a video.

“I have been watching you every week – and you’re my favourite. And then I heard that I’m your favourite Spice Girl!

“I’m honoured, and I just want to tell you – I think you are a superstar. Thank you so much for dancing to our songs, the other girls are sending all their love and good luck with the scores,” Emma said.

Having her say on Emma’s message, Ellie told Fleur: “I’m very honoured and very privileged. It was great being Baby Spice and being the wonderful Cheeky Spice.

“I’ve always loved her anyways, she’s a really cute person like me and you [Vito]. Emma Bunton seems like a good honourable person, a good friend to me.

“She is fun and most of all Emma Bunton is a wonderful person to be with.”
