SEC football standings after tightly contested Week 10

The SEC’s top two teams both had bye weeks in Week 10, but the conference still had six games. Five of the six SEC games were one-score contests including the Georgia Bulldogs’ comeback win over the Florida Gators.

Georgia along with Ole Miss, who beat South Carolina, both won in Week 10 to keep pressure on Texas A&M and Alabama, who are both undefeated in SEC play. Additionally, quarterback Arch Manning and Texas earned a big home win over quarterback Diego Pavia and Vanderbilt, who nearly recovered an onside kick with less than a minute left. Texas still only has one loss in SEC play.

The Oklahoma Sooners also earned a huge win. Oklahoma beat Tennessee on the road to effectively eliminate Tennessee from SEC championship and likely College Football Playoff consideration.

Two SEC teams earned their first wins of the season. Mississippi State came from behind 14 points on two separate occasions to beat Arkansas. Mississippi State outscored Arkansas 17-0 over the game’s final 11 minutes. Kentucky earned a gritty win on the road at Auburn in a game that featured just 13 total points and may be the last game of the Hugh Freeze era.
