Bengals get a win with Colts trade idea involving disgruntled starter

The Cincinnati Bengals don’t have many good options at the NFL trade deadline when it comes to linebacker Logan Wilson.
Trade Wilson and it’s honoring a trade request (from a captain, no less), which could send a certain type of signal to the locker room on a Bengals team that has already had a trio of trade requests over the last few weeks.
Refusing to trade Wilson also sends a message of sorts to the locker room while keeping a disgruntled player in the building.
So what’s the solution? Bleacher Report’s Brad Gagnon just came up with a good one by proposing the Bengals send Wilson to the Indianapolis Colts in a swap for cornerback Chris Lammons:
“We got a little creative with a one-for-one here involving two players who would likely see a lot more daylight with their new teams. Wilson is the more accomplished defender but has fallen out of favor in Cincinnati, so this is more about getting something at a position of need for a team that may still have an outside shot at a playoff run.”

Call it a win for both sides, mostly. Wilson gets to go play under Lou Anarumo and with Germaine Pratt again.
The Bengals get Lammons, a veteran on the final year of his contract who can provide nice depth. They need help now and into 2026 with Cam Taylor-Britt, at least, seeming on his way out the door.
There’s still the issue of honoring trade requests at all here, but getting something back out of a messy split with Wilson is better than nothing.
