Allegiant Stadium area tops list for vehicle crime on NFL game days, study finds

LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — A recent study by Wheelsaway, using FBI vehicle crime data, has identified the area surrounding the Las Vegas Raiders’ Allegiant Stadium as the least safe location for parking on NFL game days.
The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department reported 8,482 motor vehicle crimes during the last NFL season, equating to 444 incidents per 10,000 residents in Paradise, Nevada.
This includes 4,595 motor vehicle thefts, 3,414 thefts from vehicles, and 473 thefts of vehicle parts or accessories.
Houston, home to the Texans’ NRG Stadium, recorded the highest number of vehicle crimes overall, with 23,939 incidents reported.

Despite the high number, due to Houston’s large population, this translates to 100 incidents per 10,000 residents.
Conversely, Foxborough, Massachusetts, where the New England Patriots play, ranks as the safest location, with only eight motor vehicle crimes reported, equating to four per 10,000 residents.
The Buffalo Bills’ Highmark Stadium and the New York Jets’ MetLife Stadium also rank among the safest, with minimal reported crimes.
A Wheelsaway spokesperson highlighted the importance of parking in secure, well-lit areas and taking precautions such as using steering wheel locks and GPS trackers to reduce the risk of vehicle theft.
