Goalkeeper Brad Stuver kept Austin in it with four saves, while Austin’s defense picked up two yellow cards as they struggled to contain LAFC’s pace.
Austin must now find a way to turn their possession advantage into real scoring opportunities. They’ll need near-flawless defending and better finishing to extend the series. LAFC, meanwhile, can afford to sit back and counter — their composure and attacking firepower give them a clear edge even away from home.
Prediction
Austin will ride the energy of their home crowd, but LAFC’s class and efficiency should prove too much down the stretch. Expect a tight contest early before LAFC pull away late.
