Jason Statham’s $98M Action Sleeper Hit Keeps Fighting Its Way to the Top of the Charts Again

Prime Video subscribers cannot get enough of A Working Man. The Jason Statham action movie is back on the Amazon-owned streamer’s Top 10 chart.
According to FlixPatrol, A Working Man is currently ranked No. 4 on Prime Video’s Top 10 Movies chart, up two spots from earlier in the week, but down from yesterday’s high of No. 3. If A Working Man hopes to claim the top spot, it will need to sneak past three standout titles — Play Dirty (No. 1), the new Shane Black action movie, John Candy: I Like Me (No. 2), a new documentary about the comedic icon, and Knight and Day (No. 3), the 2010 action comedy flick starring Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz. While not as successful as Statham’s A Working Man predecessor, The Beekeeper, the 2025 action movie still managed to gross close to $99 million worldwide during its theatrical run, becoming a sleeper hit in the process.
Directed by David Ayer, who also helmed The Beekeeper, A Working Man stars Statham as Levon Cade, an ex-Royal Marine Commando-turned-construction worker who takes it upon himself to rescue his boss’s daughter from human traffickers. The action movie is based on the Chuck Dixon novel Levon’s Trade, and was adapted for the big screen by Sylvester Stallone, marking the fifth feature the action icon has penned for Statham, following the first three Expendables movies and Homefront. Despite becoming a modest box office hit, A Working Man was unable to win over the critics, with the review aggregator website Rotten Tomatoes noting an approval rating of just 47%.

After working with Ayer on his last two action movies, Statham’s next three features will all be helmed by a different filmmaker. First up is the action thriller Shelter from Ric Roman Waugh, which is set to hit theaters on Jan. 30, 2026. When a reclusive man (Statham) who lives in a remote house by the sea “rescues a young girl from drowning in a terrible storm, he unwittingly sets off a chain reaction that soon brings violence his way, forcing him to confront choices from his past,” reads the logline for Shelter, which also stars Bodhi Rae, Naomi Ackie, and Bill Nighy.
Seven months after Shelter, Statham’s second movie of 2026 will hit theaters. Titled Mutiny and directed by Jean-François Richet, the action thriller sees Statham in a familiar role, playing a former Special Forces and New York police officer who now works in private security. After witnessing his billionaire boss’s murder and being framed for the crime, Cole boards a cargo ship on a one-man crusade to avenge his boss’s death, only to discover an international conspiracy.
The third and final announced movie that Statham fans have to look forward to is The Beekeeper 2. Statham is back in the lead role alongside fellow returning stars Jeremy Irons, Emmy Raver-Lampman, Bobby Naderi, and Jemma Redgrave, and newcomers Yara Shahidi, Adam Copeland, and Pom Klementieff. Production is already underway on the sequel, which has Nobody 2 helmer Timo Tjahjanto in the director’s chair. A release window for The Beekeeper 2 has not yet been shared by Amazon MGM Studios.
