Talking Heads singer David Byrne has been confirmed to headline Latitude Festival next summer.

The booking of Byrne for the Suffolk festival is a UK-exclusive for Latitude. He will be joined at the top of the bill by Lewis Capaldi and Teddy Swims.

The festival, which is set to run at Henham Park from July 23rd to July 26th, will also welcome Wet Leg, The Last Dinner Party, Self Esteem, The Flaming Lips, Tom Grennan, Alex James’ Britpop Classical, English Teacher, Kevin Morby, Dry Cleaning, Billy Ocean, Alice Phoebe Lou, Just Mustard and Vanessa Carlton.

Rising stars Getdown Services, Florence Road, Westside Cowboy and Keo will also perform at next year’s Latitude.

Byrne, who is set to tour the UK in March, said of headlining Latitude, “Really looking forward to this. A wide-ranging festival, and well curated (looking forward to catching some of the other acts). A great day in the country.”

Meanwhile, Melvin Benn, Latitude Founder and Festival Director, said of next year’s celebratory event which will mark a landmark birthday, “Twenty years of Latitude feels like both a moment and a lifetime. We’ve watched this festival grow from an ambitious idea into a cultural institution that has genuinely changed what people expect from a festival experience. This first lineup announcement celebrates everything Latitude has always stood for: fearless programming, artistic ambition, and that magical collision between discovery and legacy.”

He continued, “With David Byrne playing an exclusive festival set, Teddy Swims bringing his soulful energy to the festival, and Lewis Capaldi returning after his courageous journey, alongside artists ranging from The Flaming Lips to The Last Dinner Party, this lineup tells the story of where we’ve been and where we’re going.”

For the upcoming edition of Latitude, the festival has partnered with buy now, pay later service Klarna as their headline sponsor. New or existing customers at Klarna have access to Latitude pre-sale tickets via Ticketmaster before general sale begins on November 5th at 10am.

Latitude’s comedy, theatre, dance, poetry and literary programme is set to be announced in due course.
