Here’s when Starbucks holiday cups and menu items come out

When you grab your coffee from Starbucks on Thursday, Nov. 6, you might not recognize the cup.
Across Starbucks coffeehouse locations nationwide, customers can expect new holiday food, drinks and merchandise.
It’s the time of year when Starbucks puts away its traditional white cups and replaces them with festively designed cups to hold holiday drinks.
Since 1997, according to its website, Starbucks has replaced its white cups with those festively designed for the holiday season. Four new hot cups and two cold cups with festive designs are featured this year.
It’s just one sign that the retail holiday season is underway.
Starbucks’ annual Red Cup day is Nov. 13. A Starbucks tradition, it’s when customers can get a collectible, reusable holiday cup with the purchase of a holiday drink.
Starbucks holiday merchandise this year includes a limited-edition collaboration with Hello Kitty for a variety of holiday Starbucks cards, mugs, cold cups and tumblers.
What to expect
Here are the flavors making up Starbucks’ holiday drink menu:
Peppermint Mocha
Available hot, iced or as a Frappuccino, the drink has been a long-time favorite. It features Starbucks’ signature espresso combined with steamed milk, mocha sauce, peppermint-flavored syrup and a final topping of whipped cream and dark chocolate curls.
Caramel Brulée Latte
A blend of caramel with Starbucks signature espresso also blends in steamed milk and a rich caramel brulée sauce. Available hot, iced and as a Frappuccino, this latte is topped with whipped cream and a caramel brulée topping.
Iced Sugar Cookie Latte
A combination of light roast Starbucks Blonde Espresso with ice, 2% milk and a sugar cookie-flavored syrup. Available hot, iced and as a Frappuccino, the drink is topped with topped with red and green sprinkles.
Iced Sugar Cookie Breve
A popular customization of the latte, this is made with velvety half-and-half for a rich and creamy twist. It’s now officially on Starbucks menu, according to its website.
Iced Gingerbread Chai
Warm chai spices are blended with 2% milk and ice. The drink is topped with gingerbread-flavored cold foam and a sprinkling of spice topping.
Cold foam flavors blended with Starbucks vanilla sweet cream offered this season include:
- Gingerbread
- Peppermint Chocolate
- Sugar Cookie
- Caramel Brulée
Holiday festive treats this year include the new Cinnamon Pull-Apart featuring warm croissant pieces sprinkled with cinnamon sugar and topped with crunchy streusel. The Cinnamon Pull-apart will also be available year-round. Its viral Snowman-shaped and decorated cookie is returning as a menu favorite. Also new is the festive Polar Bear Cake Pop, which joins the Cranberry Bliss Bar and Sugar Plum Cheese Danish.
