Denver Broncos Sign Asante Samuel Jr.

The NFL Trade Deadline is quickly approaching, and teams in need of players to round out their rosters for a full push for the Super Bowl will utilize this time to be buyers and fix their holes.
While teams could look to make trade, teams could also look to add key free agents still available to address these holes instead to avoid having to give up players or draft capital.
One player that remains available that cornerback-needy teams could look to sign is Asante Samuel Jr., and the one team now in ned of cornerback help that makes for an ideal landing spot is the Denver Broncos.

Denver Broncos Signing Asante Samuel Jr.
The Denver Broncos continue to maintain being one of the more dominant teams this season as they hold a 6-2 record, and are just coming off an impressive win over the Dallas Cowboys where they won 44-24.
While the win was great for the Broncos, they suffered a loss during it, and that was their cornerback in Patrick Surtain. Surtain is expected to miss multiple games with a left pectoral strain, which leads a glaring hole now in Denver’s secondary.

For Denver, they should be looking for more cornerback help regardless, as they can’t just rely on Surtain as their star defensive back. That is where signing Asante Samuel Jr. can help.
Asante Samuel Jr remains a free agent as teams await the result of his CT scan to see if his neck surgery he had done earlier in the offseason was success. If that is the case, he is a prime player to sign.
By signing Asante Samuel Jr, the Broncos would be getting another aggressive cornerback that can help in bringing diversity to their defensive back room. With Samuel Jr.’s ballhawk skills it has led to him having 30 pass breakups and nine interceptions over four seasons. For Denver, having that type of player in the fold during Surtain’s absence would be immense, and then pairing the two up for the future would be even more beneficial.
With Asante Samuel Jr. being just 26, he presents further upside as well. Not to mention, with him having player for the Los Angeles Chargers, he is already used to the style of play in the AFC West to be an instant fit in Denver to help Bo Nix and Sean Payton continue the upward trajectory Denver is on.
