Carnage as punters let loose at Flemington

Half Yours has won the 165th Melbourne Cup.
There was high drama as horses jostled for position down the famous Flemington straight.
However, there was no stopping Half Yours, who has won the $4.5 million prize for the horse’s connections, trainer and jockey.
Earlier, rain wreaked havoc across the iconic racecourse and controversial moments overshadowed the opening races.
Drama rocked Flemington during the opening race of the day when the result was officially protested.
Punters were also left doing a double-take when champion jockey James McDonald entered the track in the wrong silks without any explanation given.
There was more drama earlier in the day when jockey Neil Farley was suspended for breaching whipping rules.
The big day finishes with the 10th race at 5.15pm.
