Lakers urged to pair ex-Warriors All-Star, Luka Doncic via massive ‘all-in’ trade

With their 26-year-old generational talent Luka Dončić at the helm, the Los Angeles Lakers’ championship window remains wide open in 2025-26.

Despite being handed a few unfortunate injury updates concerning their 40-year-old superstar LeBron James, an MVP-level emergence from Austin Reaves has led the team to a solid 4-2 record and provided Dončić with a trustworthy complementary star.

Still, it’s plausible to believe that the Lakers’ general manager could increase their title odds by completing an important trade. In fact, one NBA writer believe that the franchise should go ‘all-in’ by pulling off a huge transaction with the Miami Heat to land their star forward Andrew Wiggins.

“Pelinka has been hesitant to go all-in, but Dončić wants to win now,” FanSided’s Tyler Watts wrote Sunday.

“The superstar is in his prime and knows this is his best chance to win with LeBron.”

“Fans have heard the Andrew Wiggins rumors, and he is just the type of player the Lakers should acquire to boost their title odds.”

“He can get buckets, space the floor, and defend multiple positions. Wiggins fits in any lineup and raises the Lakers’ ceiling.”

At 30 years old, the ex-Golden State Warriors All-Star and 2022 NBA champion Andrew Wiggins perfectly fits the description of a desired Dončić sidekick.

The game-changing wing proved his value as one of the league’s best two-way talents throughout the 2022 postseason and in the 2022 NBA Finals for Golden State against Jayson Tatum and the Boston Celtics.

As a current member of the Miami Heat, Wiggins has continued to show out on both ends of the floor by averaging an efficient 16.4 points to go along with 4.8 rebounds, 1.4 steals, 0.8 blocks and a phenomenal 108 defensive rating per 100 possessions in his first six games of the season.

If the Lakers were to bring in Wiggins to serve as a consistent force on both ends to support Dončić, James and Reaves, the franchise could be well on its way to seriously competing for their 18th NBA title in 2025-26.
