Athens 2025 Day 4: Men’s singles prediction ft. Brandon Nakashima vs Marcos Giron, Luciano Darderi vs Miomir Kecmanovic | Hellenic Championship

The inaugural edition of the Hellenic Championship 2025 continues in full swing in Athens this week. Day 4 (Wednesday, November 5) of the tournament will feature the remaining second-round matches.
Sebastian Korda was one of the players to reach the quarterfinals on Tuesday. He staged a comeback to beat seventh seed Alexei Popyrin in the first round, and followed it up with another comeback win over Damir Dzumhur.
The rest of the draw will aim to join him in the last eight on Wednesday. On that note, here are the predictions for all the singles matches set for Day 4 of the Hellenic Championship 2025:
#1. Brandon Nakashima vs Marcos Giron
Nakashima has a 32-28 record this year, with a 21-18 record on hardcourts. A semifinal at the Mexican Open, an ATP 500 event, stands out as his best result this year, followed by a couple of semifinals at the ATP 250 level. He received a bye into the second round of the Hellenic Championship as one of the top four seeds.
Giron, meanwhile, commenced his run in Athens with a 6-4, 6-1 win over Pedro Martinez in his opener. He snapped his three-match losing skid with the win, and improved his record for the season to 22-26, and to 15-17 on hardcourts.
Nakashima leads their rivalry 2-0. He won their most recent meeting a few weeks ago at the Chengdu Open in three sets. This could be another close battle between them, though the 24-year-old will be expected to maintain his winning record in this match-up on account of outperforming his compatriot this year.
Predicted winner: Brandon Nakashima in three sets.
#2. Luciano Darderi vs Miomir Kecmanovic

Kecmanovic edged past Kamil Majchrzak 7-6 (4), 7-6 (4) to reach the second round of the Hellenic Championship. Darderi, on the other hand, had a first-round bye as one of the top four seeds. The Italian has won three titles this year and has a 29-26 record.
However, all of Darderi’s best results are limited to clay. He has a 6-14 record on hardcourts, and has arrived in Athens on a four-match losing streak. Kecmanovic has a 19-18 record on hardcourts this year.
All three of their previous career meetings took place this year. Kecmanovic won two of those matches, both on hardcourts, while Darderi had the last laugh on clay. The Serb will be favored to come out on top once again given their results on hardcourts this season.
Predicted winner: Miomir Kecmanovic in straight sets.
#3. Alexandre Muller vs Tomas Martin Etcheverry
Predicted winner: Alexandre Muller in three sets.
#4. Yannick Hanfmann vs Vit Kopriva
Predicted winner: Yannick Hanfmann in straight sets.
#5. Lorenzo Musetti vs Stan Wawrinka
Predicted winner: Lorenzo Musetti in straight sets.
