The New Jersey governor election is tomorrow, Tuesday, Nov. 4, 2025, with NJ voters picking who will win the governor race in a hotly contested matchup between Mikie Sherrill and Jack Ciattarelli.
While early voting has ended, you can vote in person at your polling precinct, but it’s important to know what time it opens. With current polls showing a tight race between Ciattarelli and Sherrill, residents will vote tomorrow in NJ on who will succeed term-limited Gov. Phil Murphy. The winner of the NJ governor race will help set the stage for 2026 midterm elections, where Democrats hope to flip control of Congress as Republicans push to maintain their majority under President Donald Trump.

When is 2025 NJ governor election?
The NJ governor election 2025 is Tuesday, Nov. 4, 2025. New Jersey is electing a new governor between Democrat Mikie Sherrill and Republican Jack Ciattarelli. Those who did not mail in ballots or vote early can vote in person tomorrow at their polling locations.

On Election Day 2025 in New Jersey, polls open at 6 a.m. and close at 8 p.m.
When is the NJ mail in ballot deadline?
Forgot to turn in your mail-in ballot for the NJ election 2025? by 8 p.m. on Election Day, Tuesday, Nov. 4, 2025, you can drop the mail-in ballot at one of your county’s drop boxes or at your county’s Board of Elections Office. Find a ballot box and your local office by going to VOTE.NJ.GOV.
Reminder: Your vote-by-mail ballot cannot be brought to your in-person voting precinct on Election Day.

No. You cannot vote for NJ governor today, Monday, Nov. 3, 2025. Early voting has passed for the NJ elections; however, you will be able to vote in-person at your designated polling precinct on Election Day, which is tomorrow, Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2025.
When does early voting end in NJ?
Early voting ended in New Jersey on Sunday, Nov. 2, 2025. You can no longer vote early but you can vote tomorrow on Election Day 2025.
