Nice weather for election day, but a winter look for the weekend – Chris

Good Monday evening! After a quiet and comfortable start to the week, the next several days look ideal for checking off some outdoor tasks before colder air arrives this weekend.

Election Day on Tuesday will feature mostly sunny skies and mild temperatures around 60 degrees — perfect weather for heading to the polls without worrying about rain or cold. Light winds and dry air will make it a great day to put up Christmas decorations, clean out the gutters, or pull in those last few boat docks still in the water.

Wednesday and Thursday stay calm and seasonable, with highs in the 50s and just a slight chance of a light shower by Thursday. Friday cools slightly but remains dry for most, setting the stage for big changes by the weekend.

Saturday marks the Minnesota Firearm Deer Opener, and hunters will definitely feel the difference — clouds thicken, rain develops, and a mix of rain and snow could arrive as colder air pours in. Minor accumulation can’t be ruled out in parts of the state.

Sunday and Monday stay cold and brisk, with highs only in the 30s and a few flurries possible.

Enjoy the mild, dry stretch while it lasts. The first taste of winter could arrive by the weekend.
