Election Day: Where to vote, how to look at a sample ballot & reminders

(WPDE) — Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 4, and here’s where you can vote and what you need to know if you’re in the Carolinas.

SOUTH CAROLINA: You can look at a sample ballot and find your polling location by entering in your information here.

POLL HOURS
Polls are open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. in South Carolina, according to the South Carolina Election Commission.
Polls are open from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. in North Carolina, according to the North Carolina State Board of Elections.

WHAT TO BRING
SOUTH CAROLINA
You need to show at least one of the following forms of identification:
- SC Driver’s License
- SC Department of Motor Vehicles ID Card (includes SC Concealed Weapons Permit)
- SC Voter Registration Card with Photo
- US Passport
- Federal Military ID
If you forget to bring your photo ID to vote, you may vote a provisional ballot that will count only if you show your photo ID to your county voter registration office prior to certification of the election.
NORTH CAROLINA
Voters will be asked to show photo ID when voting in North Carolina.
However, the North Carolina State Board of Elections said all voters will be allowed to vote with or without a photo ID by filling out an ID Exception Form. If absentee-by-mail voters are unable to include a copy of their photo ID with their ballot envelope, they can also fill out an ID Exception Form to return with their ballot.
Acceptable forms of ID include:
- North Carolina driver’s license
- State ID from the NCDMV, also called “non-operator ID”
- Driver’s license or non-driver ID from another state, District of Columbia, or U.S. territory (only if voter registered in North Carolina within 90 days of the election)
- U.S. Passport or U.S. Passport card
- North Carolina voter photo ID card issued by a county board of elections
- College or university student photo ID approved by the State Board of Elections
- State or local government or charter school employee photo ID approved by the State Board of Elections
- Military or veterans ID card with photo issued by the U.S. government
- Tribal enrollment card with photo issued by a tribe recognized by the State of North Carolina or the federal government
- ID card with photo issued by an agency of the U.S. government or the State of North Carolina for a public assistance program
SC REMINDERS
- Minor children (under 18) can accompany the voter in the voting booth.
- No campaigning is allowed inside a polling location.
- You can vote your absentee ballot and return it to your county voter registration office by mail or delivery on Election Day 7:00 p.m.
- Absentee ballots must be returned on Election Day by 7:00 p.m.
- Exit polls are legal, and participation is voluntary.
