South Africa’s Quinton de Kock slammed a half-century in his first ODI in nearly two years.
He hammered a 71-ball 63 in the 1st ODI against Pakistan at Iqbal Stadium, Faisalabad, on November 4.
In September this year, de Kock reversed his retirement from ODI cricket. He had retired from the format following the 2023 ICC World Cup.

De Kock, who played his first ball in the third over, started with a boundary off Shaheen Afridi through square leg.
Along with his opening partner Lhuan-dre Pretorius, de Kock helped SA reach 50 with a six off Abrar Ahmed.
De Kock, who continued to attack spinners, reached his half-century in the 20th over. He was joined by Tony de Zorzi following Pretorius’s dismissal.

De Kock falls to Naseem Shah 

De Kock, who added 98 runs with Pretorius for the opening wicket, took SA past 140 along with de Zorzi. The Proteas opener was finally knocked over by Naseem Shah in the 25th over. His knock had 6 fours and 2 sixes.

Sixth-most ODI runs for SA

As mentioned, de Kock made a mark playing his first ODI in nearly two years.
During his knock, he also became South Africa’s sixth-highest run-scorer in ODI cricket. He surpassed Gary Kirsten (6,798) on this list.
In 156 ODIs, de Kock has raced to 6,833 runs at an average of 45.85. This was his 31st half-century in the format (21 hundreds).
