Another familiar face is leaving local television in Maine.
On Monday, meteorologist Keith Carson took to social media to announce that Friday, November 7 would be his last day at News Center Maine.
Based on the flood of comments Carson received on his post, his fans were shocked by his rather sudden departure. But notable departures in local Maine media have become more and more common recently.

Keith Carson Announces He’ll Be Staying in Maine For His Next Venture
In Keith Carson’s social media post, he wonderfully thanks many current and former Maine media personalities for the impact they had on his career.
Once calling himself the ‘most slappable’ media personality in Maine, Carson managed to win over hardened Mainers with his detailed forecasts and self-deprecating humor.
Carson isn’t departing News Center Maine to work at another station. Instead, he’s joining Maine Conservation Voters which is a non-profit aimed at keeping Mainers informed on everything to do with their climate and environment.
Keith Carson’s final day of his nearly 20-year media career will be November 7.
