Celebrity Traitors’ star says ‘I feel invigorated’ after escaping to Welsh beauty spot

Sporting pundit and The Celebrity Traitors star, Clare Balding has been spotted in Swansea. The presenter shared on social media that she was working down the Gower Peninsula for a BBC Ramblings segment for BBC Radio 4.

She headed down to Rhossili, to take in the “beauty of our landscape” and where better to do so than in the UK’s first area of outstanding natural beauty. Fans of the presenter took to social media to share their excitement that the presenter was showing off the beauty of the Gower.

She added: “Two days walking in the autumn sunshine – today up on Rhossili Down and then along the beach talking with Rob Curtis about his work in Antartica for the British Antarctic Survey. BTW Did you know the Gower Peninsula was the first AONB in the UK?”

Clare continued: “We were lucky with the weather I know but I feel so invigorated by the beauty of our landscape and I love spending time with people who know so much about it.”

Social media users were thrilled to see that Clare was in the area. One person said: “The Gower is stunning. Three Cliffs Bay is a firm favourite.”

Another added: “It’s lovely to hear your enthusiasm and thirst for knowledge about the landscape. Good job Clare.”

A third said: “The Gower especially Rhossili is glorious isn’t it? so glad you got to enjoy it! “

The presenter stayed at the King Arthur Hotel in Reynoldston, Swansea. The venue, located in the Gower Peninsula, shared a picture of Clare and their chef Bev on Facebook.

In the post, they said: “We were delighted to have the lovely Clare Balding staying with us last night.

“Chef Bev (who cooked her dinner and breakfast) is a big fan — so of course we had to grab a photo this morning!”

The hotel told us: “It was such a pleasure to welcome Clare Balding to The King Arthur! She couldn’t have been nicer — so friendly and genuine — and it was lovely to see how much she loved Gower.”

Clare recently starred in BBC’s first ever series of The Celebrity Traitors. The sports pundit was banished from the Scottish castle in the episode which aired on Thursday, October 16, with seven votes against her from her fellow contestants.

The presenter was a faithful, and following her banishment she said: “I came in with only one strategy, which was to be nice to absolutely everyone, and I have had the best time, and I love all of you.”
