Military Activity Prompts Ground Delay At Reagan National Airport

ARLINGTON, VA — A ground delay at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport on Wednesday was prompted by military activity in the area, according to a report citing the Federal Aviation Administration.

In an alert posted on the agency’s website, the FAA previously said departing flights were delayed due to “security.”

In a statement provided to Fox News, the FAA said the delay was caused by military activity. The Pentagon told Fox it was aware of the reports but didn’t provide additional information.

The alert is in effect until 10 p.m. ET, the FAA said. As of 5:45 p.m., the average flight delay was 32 minutes.

Travelers can check their flight status online.
