TNT Sports were forced to apologise
TNT Sports were forced to apologise to their audience during Arsenal’s Champions League clash with Slavia Prague.
The Gunners had made the trip to Czechia on Tuesday evening, for a clash with the Czech heavyweights. However, fans that didn’t make the trip were left watching the game in silence as Sam Matterface and Martin Keown’s microphones stopped working.
An apology flashed on screen as Matterface was again briefly heard in the 15th minute. However, with two voices overlapping he cut out once more.
TNT Sports made the drastic decision to go back to the two pundits – Owen Hargreaves and Anita Asante – as they looked to provide fans with some sort of commentary.
“Somebody tell TNT Sports that this is worse than before. Why not just match and crowd noise,” one fan fumed.

“TNT Sports with another issue. Commentary is now not working. £30 a month it costs for TNT Sports. Awful service,” a second said. As a third replied: “They are really having a mare with their coverage right now…”
“Don’t apologise for loss of commentary TNT Sports. It’s much better without Matterface and Keown,” a fourth joked.
And another added: “TNT Sports if you can lose the commentary until the game ends that would make watching it an awful lot better…”
