Jurgen Klopp has had quite the year since stepping into his role as Global Head of Soccer for the Red Bull group.

Since taking over at the start of the year, the former Liverpool boss has been overseeing the sporting direction across RB Leipzig, New York Red Bulls, and Red Bull Salzburg — and it’s been anything but quiet for the 58-year-old German.

Now, Klopp is set to play an even bigger role in shaping the future of the game in his homeland.

The German Football League (DFL) has announced the formation of a new expert panel dedicated to the development of German football, with Klopp among the high-profile names appointed to the committee.

Away from the boardroom, Klopp and his son Marc are also pressing ahead with an exciting venture of their own back in Liverpool.

The pair are developing a major padel sports complex dubbed “Klopp’s Padel FC,” with plans to open the first UK branch at Wavertree Sports Park in the city.

However, Liverpool icon Roberto Firmino believes that Jurgen Klopp will return to some form of management in the future – be it at Liverpool or elsewhere:

“He was the best manager I’ve ever had. The memories I still have are incredible. I’m grateful to have worked alongside him,” the Brazilian said in an interview with Flashscore.

“I learnt a lot from him, and I think I was able to repay him for what he expected of me.”

“I think he’s taking a break, I think he’s going to go back to coaching a club. Whether it’s Liverpool, only he can say.”

The German recently revealed on the Diary of a CEO podcast a few weeks back that he could “theoretically” return to Liverpool as the manager:

“I said I would never coach another team, a different team in England,” he said.

“So that means if, then it’s Liverpool, yeah. Theoretically it’s possible.”

“I don’t even know exactly. I love what I do right now. I don’t miss coaching. I do coach, just different – not players – and I don’t miss it.”
