PSG star Achraf Hakimi breaks down in tears as Luis Diaz sent off for disgusting tackle after scoring twice

ACHRAF HAKIMI broke down in tears after being scythed down by Luis Diaz in Paris Saint-Germain’s match against Bayern Munich.

Bayern were dominant in the first half and surged into a two-goal lead thanks to a brace from Diaz at the Parc des Princes.

The evening got worse for the hosts as star player Ousmane Dembele was forced off injured in the 25th minute.

However, Diaz lost his head in the seventh minute of added time in the first half.

He made a horrific attempt to win the ball from behind against Hakimi, which the defender in tears.

The referee had initially shown a yellow card but after a VAR intervention, it was rightly upgraded to a red card.

The incident dampened what had been a brilliant first-half performance from the German outfit.

Former Liverpool man Diaz opened the scoring in the fourth minute, before doubling his tally in the 32nd.

However, following his straight red card, the Colombian international will now be suspended for Bayern’s trip to face Arsenal later this month.

Hakimi’s injury fears will be heighted with the African Cup of Nations little over a month away.

The Morocco star – playing on his 27th birthday – was sobbing uncontrollably as he was helped off the Parc des Princes pitch.

His country is hosting the prestigious tournament, and Hakimi captains his side too.

Hakimi and Dembele’s absence hampered PSG’s attempts to get back into the contest.

Joao Neves got one back in the 74th minute but the hosts were unable to find a leveller and deny the Germans a famous victory.
