Mapp, Carter, Kennedy, Neron in Gear, as Sherrill Swoops through Plainfield

PLAINFIELD – The Mikie Sherrill SUV caravan makes an Election Day rumble through this Union County Democratic Party stronghold to connect with Mayor Adrian Mapp and the LD-22 Democratic Party ticket.
Among those at the front of the room when the Democratic nominee for Governor arrives, Assemblywoman Linda Carter (D-22) reminds the crowd of volunteers here packed into headquarters, “It is game day. We are going to do this. We are going to get our next governor, Mikie Sherrill, elected.”
Carter – introduced here as Plainfield’s own Wonder Woman, since she shares the same name as the actress who played her in the 1970s, takes time with InsiderNJ to talk about the vitality of Sherrill’s candidacy.
So does Stan Neron, candidate for Union County Commissioner, who’s on the ballot with Mayor Mapp, Carter, and Carter’s running mate, Assemblyman Jim Kennedy.
Running countywide, Neron – director of recreation for the City of Elizabeth – gave his assessment of the terrain:
Mapp introduces Sherrill, but not before leading the room in a lively, Plainfield rendition of “Hit the Road, Jack,” for the benefit of Jack Ciattarelli, the Republican gubernatorial nominee. Moments later, the Sherrill caravan hits the road, but only in a manner of speaking, Democrats here trust.
