“Should Be Banned for Life” – NBA Fans Deliver Strong Verdict After Desmond Bane Viciously Spikes the Basketball on Onyeka Okongwu’s Head

Orlando Magic guard Desmond Bane was ejected from Tuesday’s game against the Atlanta Hawks after spiking the ball on Onyeka Okongwu. NBA fans gave a strong verdict on Bane’s actions, considering it was a fastbreak play and was out of frustration.

With 5:24 remaining in the third quarter, Okongwu got a one-on-one with Bane during a fastbreak. Instead of going for a defensive challenge, the Magic guard yanked the Hawks big man down to the floor. He then spiked the ball down near Okongwu’s head.

Bane was initially called for a Flagrant 1 foul for his actions against Okongwu, with his ejection happening after he was assessed with a technical foul. He put his finger on Mouhamed Gueye’s face, which ended his night. He had nine points, one rebound, two assists, two steals and one block in 23 minutes.

NBA fans had mixed reactions to Desmond Bane’s actions against Onyeka Okongwu. Some were surprised that Bane spiked the ball on Okongwu, while others just couldn’t believe it happened.

Desmond Bane has had a rough start to his first season with the Orlando Magic. Bane is averaging 14.6 points, 4.0 rebounds and 3.7 assists per game. He’s shooting just 41.9% from the field, including 25.8% from beyond the arc.

The Magic went and got him in the offseason, mainly due to his 3-point shooting. However, he still hasn’t found his rhythm with his new team. There is a lot of pressure on the team to perform much better since the Eastern Conference is wide open with all the injuries to stars like Jayson Tatum and Tyrese Haliburton.

The Orlando Magic were already down big when Desmond Bane was ejected from the game. It didn’t spark the Magic’s offense or inspire the Atlanta Hawks to further blow out the visitors. They earned an easy 127-112 win.

Six players for the Hawks scored in double digits, led by Zaccharie Risacher’s 21 points and four rebounds. Dyson Daniels had his best game of the season, finishing with 18 points on nine shots, plus getting six rebounds, six assists and two steals.

Meanwhile, Paolo Banchero had 22 points, 11 rebounds and eight assists for the Magic. Franz Wagner contributed 18 points and six rebounds, while Tristan da Silva scored 20 points off the bench.
