National Express Buses Rerouted Due to Cars Blocking Roads in Coventry

Cars parked along roads in a Coventry neighborhood have caused significant disruptions, leading to National Express making changes to its bus routes. Starting Sunday, November 2, services heading toward Binley will bypass Bolingbroke Road and instead utilize Humber Road, Binley Road, and Stoke Green. This adjustment comes in response to the challenging conditions faced by buses trying to navigate through streets filled with parked vehicles.

Meanwhile, buses traveling from Arena Shopping Park to Warwickshire Shopping Park (route 3) will maintain their familiar path via Bolingbroke Road.

In addition to the route change, National Express has announced that morning journeys on services 53 and 54 will undergo minor timetable adjustments effective November 3. This modification aims to alleviate overcrowding issues that passengers have been experiencing.

A spokesperson for National Express Coventry emphasized the necessity of such changes, stating, “Buses heading towards Binley will now use Humber Road, Binley Road, and Stoke Green instead of Bolingbroke Road. Buses towards Coventry will continue to use Bolingbroke Road. Small changes like this are essential every now and then to ensure that buses are as reliable as possible for our customers.”
