Is Marcus Smart playing for Lakers vs. Grizzlies tonight?

The Los Angeles Lakers are among the most banged-up franchises in the NBA.
Los Angeles has six players on their injury report as it prepares to take on the Memphis Grizzlies on Friday.
Luka Doncic and LeBron James are the most notable names, but it’s also concerning that the Lakers’ recently signed 6-foot-3 defensive stopper, Marcus Smart, is on the list.
Is Marcus Smart playing vs. the Grizzlies?
With Smart being tabbed as questionable with a right quad injury, it could go either way.
The former Boston Celtics guard missed the Lakers’ last two contests against the Portland Trail Blazers and Minnesota Timberwolves, which isn’t a great sign.
Los Angeles’ guard depth isn’t a great spot in late October. If Doncic (questionable with a lower left leg contusion and finger sprain) and Smart can’t participate in the Western Conference action on Friday night, the organization’s guard depth will take a massive hit.
With Gabe Vincent already unavailable with a left ankle sprain, the Lakers wouldn’t have many options to turn to. Luckily, Austin Reaves has been playing with a chip on his shoulder on the offensive end (he’s looking to hit the jackpot in free agency next summer), giving Los Angeles a chance to prevail in every contest they compete in.
Perhaps Smart will join Reaves on the hardwood for the franchise’s first NBA Cup game of the year.
