Seahawks Injuries: The latest on LB Ernest Jones IV

Seattle Seahawks linebacker Ernest Jones IV suffered a knee injury in Sunday night’s rout of the Washington Commanders, but head coach Mike Macdonald said after the game that he doesn’t think the injury is season-ending.
“It’s not season-ending, but we’ll see how it goes,” Macdonald said.

Jones got hurt on a run play late in the first half when his right leg got rolled up on by Washington tight end Ben Sinnott. Jones exited the game and was later ruled out. He was replaced by second-year linebacker Tyrice Knight.
Jones has been an instrumental part of Seattle’s defensive success since he arrived from the Tennessee Titans in an October 2024 trade. Heading into Sunday night, he had played every defensive snap for the Seahawks this season, while recording three interceptions, five pass breakups, three tackles for loss, 0.5 sacks and 59 tackles.
When asked postgame, Macdonald said “there’s a chance” Jones could miss some time.
Meanwhile, Seahawks cornerback Josh Jobe exited the game with a concussion early in the second quarter. Jobe took a hit to the head from teammate Ty Okada, who came flying in to help bring down Washington wide receiver Deebo Samuel.
