Booker recorded his sixth 30-point game against the Warriors, becoming the first Suns player to reach that mark within the first eight games of a season. For Phoenix, it’s a rare feat as the team continues to navigate its transition and play without a reliable secondary scorer.

However, the Suns couldn’t capitalize on Booker’s 38-point game, falling to the Warriors 118-107.

The 30-point performances show Booker remains an MVP-caliber talent and one of the league’s most elite shooters. This season, the Phoenix guard is averaging 30.0 points and shooting 51.1% from the field and 45.7% from three. He has already accumulated the most 30-point games in franchise history, with 217 total in his career.

Despite his record-setting performances, the Suns have struggled to stay afloat as they work to build chemistry and battle injuries to several starters. While Booker has made significant contributions, the team has yet to fully find its rhythm.

Booker’s 30-point games represent more than just numbers on a stat sheet. Before Tuesday’s matchup, he spoke about the importance of staying in the Valley and his loyalty to Phoenix, referencing Golden State’s Stephen Curry and his commitment to the Bay Area.

“It’s kinda hard to explain,” Booker said, according to The Athletic’s Nick Friedell. “But there’s a different type of love that comes with it. I wouldn’t want it any other way… I was adopted as [an] 18-year-old coming in. I was embraced through tough times, all the way to making it to the Finals. The city watched me grow up.”

Booker has already cemented himself as a Suns legend, but for him, it’s about giving back to the city that has welcomed him with open arms for 11 seasons.
