Two separate fatal pedestrian collisions in New Sudbury area this morning

Greater Sudbury Police are investigating two separate fatal pedestrian collisions in the New Sudbury area this morning.
Officers were dispatched to Lasalle Boulevard at Attlee Avenue in relation to a serious collision involving a pedestrian at 4:40 a.m. Nov. 5.
The involved driver remained on scene.
The pedestrian, a 39-year-old woman, was transported to hospital paramedics with serious, life-threatening injuries. Unfortunately she was pronounced deceased at the hospital.
“Our deepest condolences go out to her family and friends,” said a press release. “Her name will not be released out of respect for her family’s wishes.”
The intersection of Attlee Avenue and Lasalle Boulevard, which was closed earlier this morning due to the collision investigation, has since reopened.
Police say their investigation into the incident is ongoing.
Anyone with dash camera footage who was driving in the area at the time of the collision or anyone who witnessed the collision is asked to contact police at 705-675-9171.
In the second incident this morning, at around 6:15 a.m. Nov. 5, officers were dispatched to Maley Drive in the area of the Notre Dame Avenue on-ramp.
A motorist said they’d found what was believed to be a deceased individual on the road.The caller was not involved in the original incident.
Officers attended the scene and did locate a dead body, although the person’s identity has not yet been confirmed.
The driver and vehicle involved in the collision originally left the scene, but the driver has since been identified and the vehicle has been located.
The Notre Dame Avenue on-ramp to Maley Drive and the eastbound lanes of Maley Drive in the area of Notre Dame Avenue will remain closed for an undetermined amount of time while officers are on scene.
