This Day in History: Susan B. Anthony casts illegal vote to advocate for women’s suffrage

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – Nov. 5, 1872, civil rights activist Susan B. Anthony cast an illegal vote in the presidential election to make a point about women’s suffrage. Women finally gained the right to vote 48 years later with the ratification of the 19th Amendment.
