Reports: Jazz C Walker Kessler to undergo season-ending shoulder surgery

The Utah Jazz got some unfortunate news about one of their promising young pieces.
Centre Walker Kessler is set to undergo season-ending shoulder surgery after suffering a torn labrum, ESPN’s Shams Charania reported Wednesday.
Tony Jones of The Athletic was first to report the injury.
It’s unclear when or how Kessler suffered the injury, but he has missed the team’s last two games.
He had initially joined the team on their trip to Phoenix but was unable to travel to Charlotte for the next game and instead returned to Salt Lake City to undergo testing on his shoulder.
The team had ruled him out against the Hornets with shoulder bursitis, an issue he’s been dealing with since the pre-season.
Before the injury, the 24-year-old had been playing well this season, averaging 14.4 points, 10.8 rebounds, 3.0 assists, 1.4 steals and 1.8 blocks per game while shooting 70.3 per cent from the field.
The Atlanta, Ga., native is in his fourth season after being drafted by Utah 22nd overall in 2022.
