Blue Jays favourites to sign Bichette, Yankees and Braves headline chase pack

The MLB off-season sneaks up on you when making a run to Game 7 of the World Series.

After being just two outs away from the team’s first World Series since 1993, the focus for Bo Bichette and the Toronto Blue Jays has shifted to the next stage of their relationship.

It’s been seven years since Bichette made his debut for the Blue Jays, and since then, he has become one of the most impactful offensive players at his position in all of Major League Baseball.

Earlier in the year, Bichette’s longtime teammate and friend Vladimir Guerrero Jr. made a big splash by signing a 14-year, $500 million extension to remain with Toronto.

Now it’s time for Bichette to cash in as he is set to enter free agency.

The Blue Jays have opened as -230 favourites on FanDuel to re-sign the superstar, a number that comes with an implied probability of 69.70 per cent.

“I’ve said I want to be here from the beginning,” Bichette said Saturday night following the Game 7 loss.

The shortstop had one of his best years at the plate despite missing the last month of the season with a left knee injury. He slashed .311/.357/.483 with 18 home runs and 94 runs batted in across 139 games.

Bichette returned from the knee injury for Game 1 of the World Series and hit .348 with six RBI in the seven-game set.

He headlines the class of free agents this winter, and, despite Toronto being a heavy favourite, we have two teams on FanDuel priced shorter than 10-1 to land the 27-year-old and the Los Angeles Dodgers can’t be ignored either at +1600.

Here is a look at the market on FanDuel.
