Marseille 0-1 Atalanta – Lazar Samardzic scores injury-time winner

Substitute Lazar Samardzic scored in stoppage time as Atalanta secured a dramatic late victory at Marseille in the Champions League.

It looked like the visitors were on course for a frustrating evening, with Charles de Ketelaere having seen an early penalty saved, while Ademola Lookman had a goal ruled out in the second half by the video assistant referee for offside.

They had also missed a number of decent chances, with Raoul Bellanova heading wide from a cross despite being well placed at the far post.

But just as it looked like both sides would be settling for a draw Samardzic, who had only been on the pitch for five minutes, produced a moment of magic.

He glided past one Marseille player before curling a fine strike into the back of the net.

The win was Atalanta’s second in the league phase of the Champions League and means they have seven points from four games.

Marseille, meanwhile, remain on three points.
