It’s worth noting that Thomas’ left hamstring is the one which gave him lingering issues throughout much of last season. He only appeared in 57 games during that campaign, with most of the missed contests coming as a result of the injury. With that in mind, it makes sense the Nets may err on the side of caution here to protect their young talent’s health.
In Thomas’ absence, any of Egor Demin, Tyrese Martin or Ziaire Williams may absorb additional minutes. If he misses any time, a number of players could see a significant bump in usage as he averages a team-high 18.6 shot attempts per game.
In the event Thomas winds up sidelined for any significant period of time, the Nets’ outlook only worsens from an already poor start to the 2025-26 season. Brooklyn maintains expectations of a high lottery pick in the early stages of a rebuild, but an 0-7 record still hurts given the winless streak.
