Former Rams Pro Bowler re-signs with Los Angeles after 4 years away

The Los Angeles Rams haven’t been one of the most active teams this year when it comes to changing out players on their active roster and practice squad, but they did make a move early this week.

On Tuesday, the team announced that they’ve released offensive lineman Wyatt Bowles from their practice squad and signed long snapper Jake McQuaide to take his spot.

Bowles, 25, played collegiately at Utah State from 2018-24, appearing in 52 games and starting 20 before signing with the Rams as an undrafted free agent this year. He failed to make the team out of camp but landed on the practice squad at the beginning of the year.

McQuaide, 37, should be a familiar name for Rams fans. He signed with the team as an undrafted rookie in 2011 following a collegiate career at Ohio State and served as the Rams’ long snapper for 10 seasons, making two Pro Bowls. Since then, he’s had stops with the Dallas Cowboys (2021-22), Detroit Lions (2023), Chicago Bears (2024), Minnesota Vikings (2024), Miami Dolphins (2024) and Pittsburgh Steelers (2025).
