Panthers part ways with RB on Saturday

The Carolina Panthers have made a handful of moves ahead of their Week 9 matchup versus the Green Bay Packers.

As announced on Saturday afternoon, guard Chandler Zavala has been activated from injured reserve. The third-year offensive lineman missed the last four games due to a knee injury.

Zavala could start at right guard this weekend in place of Brady Christensen, who ruptured his Achilles in the Week 8 loss to the Buffalo Bills. Christensen was placed on injured reserve on Thursday.

To open up a spot on the active roster for Zavala, the Panthers have released running back DeeJay Dallas. Dallas recorded one carry and six kick returns in two games this season.

Carolina also elevated outside linebacker Jeremiah Moon from the practice squad. Moon can provide depth at the position in the absence of rookie Princely Umanmielen, who has been ruled out against the Packers with an ankle injury.
