Vevo is the world’s leading music video network, and they have officially announced the release of Finn Wolfhard‘s live performance of “Everytown There’s a Darling” from his debut album Happy Birthday.
This series of live performances from Vevo Studios offers all artists the opportunity to connect with their fans through a visual performance. During these performances, artists get to be the most authentic version of themselves with top-tier audio, lighting and production.
Fans got to hear the debut album from Wolfhard early in the summer when he shared 9 personal songs with the world. The release of Happy Birthday was his first official solo venture. The album actually came from a personal challenge that he had going, which was to pen 50 songs by the time 2022 wrapped up. He shared more about his writing process:
“I ended up writing a lot of terrible stuff, but a few of those songs I was really proud of went to The Aubreys. I started realising a general theme in a lot of the other songs involving my identity, anxieties, nostalgia, childhood and loneliness. All of that was a part of a bigger puzzle. I knew I wanted to make a record, but I didn’t know with which songs.”
Wolfhard is known for his career as an actor, portraying the role of Mike in the very popular Netflix show Stranger Things. He speaks up on balancing acting and music:
“Music for me has always been something that I can control. And while I’m really grateful for acting and for a long time, it really provided me that peace, it’s just a different thing now that I’m an adult and that it’s a career. I still enjoy it a lot, but when I am by myself and get to play guitar and write a song, it’s a different kind of feeling I’m after.”
