Chet Holmgren Injury Update: Wednesday 11/5/25 vs. Trail Blazers

See the latest injury update for Thunder big man Chet Holmgren, who is dealing with a back issue ahead of Wednesday’s game vs. the Trail Blazers.
Chet Holmgren has been listed as out on the latest injury report for tonight’s game between the Oklahoma City Thunder and Portland Trail Blazers.
Holmgren missed three straight games before returning for last night’s win. However, a lower back sprain will sideline him on Wednesday for the second leg of the back-to-back. Given his injury history, it’s not surprising the Thunder may play it safe with the young star.

Through his first five games of 2025-26, Holmgren averages a career-high 20.6 PPG, thoroughly shattering his previous best of 16.5. He’s excelled in a larger offensive role with Jalen Williams still sidelined, shooting 55.9% from the field and 40.0% from three-point range. Holmgren also posts 9.2 rebounds per game, another career-high in addition to 2.0 assists, and 2.8 combined stocks.
With Holmgren ruled out, Aaron Wiggins or Jaylin Williams may slide into the starting frontcourt alongside big man Isiah Hartenstein. As for other injuries, Lu Dort (trap) and Alex Caruso (rest) are also out tonight.
At 8-0, the Thunder are only unbeaten team still standing around the NBA. They enter Wednesday’s game as -4.5 favorites over the Trail Blazers on DraftKings Sportsbook with -175 odds to win outright.
